Reenee Williams Walter Named Florida’s Workforce Champion Service Innovator Award Winner!
Rapid Response Coordinator Leads Workforce Innovation in the Capital Region
Tallahassee, Fla. – CareerSource Capital Region is proud to announce that Reenee Williams-Walter, Rapid Response Coordinator, was recognized earlier today as the statewide winner of the Florida Workforce Champion Service Innovator Award at the Florida Workforce Development Professional Summit in Orlando.
Williams’ award was presented at the 2025 Workforce Development Professional Summit in Orlando before an audience of workforce leaders and partners from across Florida. The Service Innovator Award honors frontline workforce professionals who demonstrate exceptional creativity, initiative, and impact in advancing workforce development goals, and Williams exemplifies these qualities.
In her role at CareerSource Capital Region, Reenee consistently connects employers with the staff best suited to meet their needs, whether that is an Account Executive, the Apprenticeship Navigator, or other team members. She has played a critical role in numerous initiatives, including:
-
Supporting Rapid Response employer layoff events with custom tracking spreadsheets to ensure streamlined and coordinated assistance.
-
Connecting a large local contractor with the Apprenticeship Navigator, facilitating the creation of registered apprenticeship programs across multiple companies.
-
Assisting in the May Storms NDWG grant project, locating the only employer worksite for the contracted service provider.
-
Developing the annual Growing Forward Business Resource Luncheon, a highly successful event offering small businesses access to CareerSource Capital Region resources, local economic development organizations, and entrepreneurial support.
Williams also demonstrates exceptional community engagement, serving on boards and commissions including the Foundation for Leon County Schools, the Council on Culture and Arts, the TalTech Alliance, and as a commissioner for the Tallahassee-Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. She recently completed Leadership Tallahassee, Class 42, and has been recognized by the Tallahassee Democrat as one of the 25 Women You Need to Know and named Ambassador of the Year by the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce.
“Reenee’s innovation, dedication, and collaborative approach make a tangible difference in the lives of job seekers and employers alike,” said Trish Yahn, Senior Director at CareerSource Capital Region. “Her tireless efforts exemplify the best of our workforce system and the impact that one committed professional can make on the community.”
“I am truly honored to receive the Florida Workforce Champion Service Innovator Award,” said Williams. “This recognition reflects the incredible teamwork at CareerSource Capital Region and our shared commitment to helping individuals and businesses succeed in the Capital Region.”
