Florida Ready to Work Program Offers Employability Skills Training and Certifications to Help Career Seekers Stand Out to Employers

Best of All, It’s Free to Use!

GADSDEN, LEON, & WAKULLA COUNTIES, Fla. – The Florida Ready to Work program is a valuable initiative that provides Floridians with the essential employability skills employers seek.

In collaboration with the CareerSource Florida network, including CareerSource Capital Region, the Florida Ready to Work program offers comprehensive training opportunities to help individuals prepare to take the next step toward employment, technical training/certification, apprenticeships, and more!

Florida Ready to Work provides comprehensive employability skills training through an online platform accessible from any computer or tablet, anytime, anywhere. The training is self-directed and self-paced, catering to the needs of diverse learners. CareerSource Capital Region can help anyone in the capital area sign up.  It’s free to you!

Participants who complete the program can earn up to three stackable credentials, demonstrating their readiness to enter the workforce. The credentials, signed by Governor Ron DeSantis, are widely recognized as a standard measure of foundational employability skills across various industries.

Description of Trainings:

  • Soft Skills Training: Developing interpersonal skills crucial for workplace success.
  • Digital Skills Training: Enhancing essential digital literacy required by today's employers.
  • Academic Employability Skills Training: Strengthening foundational academic skills to boost employability.

Participants must pass proctored assessments to earn their credentials, ensuring mastery of essential employability skills. These credentials demonstrate an individual’s readiness to work, making them attractive candidates to potential employers.

“Our team is thrilled to partner with employers such as Leon and Wakulla County Schools where we are able to immediately schedule interviews for individuals who earn the Academic Employability Skills certification at an Achievement Level 3,” said Lacy McMullen, Account Executive at CareerSource Capital Region. “Passing this certification at a Level 3 can boost a job seeker into top consideration for a Paraprofessional position with one of these school systems, and every day, more and more employers are expressing interest in interviewing individuals with these certifications.”

CareerSource Capital Region is dedicated to improving the employability of Floridians through the Florida Ready to Work program. To learn more about the program and what it entails, please visit CareerSource Capital Region’s webpage. Contact CareerSource Capital Region to get started!
