CareerSource Capital Region Recognizes a Local Employer for Commitment to Hiring Veterans

Florida State University Recognized as 2024 Veteran Friendly Employer

GADSDEN, JEFFERSON, LEON, & WAKULLA COUNTIES, FL—In honor of Veterans Month, CareerSource Capital Region is honored to announce and recognize Florida State University (FSU) as the 2024 Veteran Friendly Employer, acknowledging its exemplary commitment to veteran hiring and support in the workplace. Through FSU’s Office of Human Resources, the university has successfully employed 87 veterans over the last two years, comprising 2-5% of its workforce.

With a mission to offer not only career opportunities but also continued education and professional growth, FSU provides veterans with personalized support and assistance at every stage of the hiring process. The university’s Office of Human Resources takes an individualized approach, assisting veterans in identifying potential career paths, reviewing resumes, and providing technical guidance throughout the application and onboarding phases.

Florida State University was presented the 2024 CareerSource Capital Region Veteran Friendly Employer of the Year award on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, by Brooklyn Enders, Local Veterans Employment Representative, and Trish Yahn, Senior Director of Business Solutions, Events & Special Projects.

CareerSource Capital Region’s Veteran Friendly Employer award is given annually to organizations that demonstrate outstanding dedication to veteran employment, focusing on integration, retention, and advancement of veterans in their workforce. FSU’s success in establishing itself as a veteran-friendly institution exemplifies the meaningful impact employers can have by supporting veterans in their transition to civilian careers.
