The December 2024 Power Hour Lunch and Learn will provide a space for employers and business leaders to learn strategic planning techniques that can help them effectively achieve their organization's goals. Attendees are eligible to receive 1 hour of credit from HRCI and 1 SHRM CE Credit.
Session Take-a-ways include:
- The strategic plan sets the broad vision, priorities, goals, objectives, etc.
- A well-developed and implemented process is necessary for success.
- Results must be measured and evaluated to determine whether priorities, goals, and objectives have been successfully achieved.
Meet the speaker:
Gregory J. Cowan currently serves as Director of Strategic Planning in the Executive Section of the Justice Administrative Commission (JAC). He has over 30 years’ experience in the Florida Judicial System and has worked for JAC for the last eight years.
Mr. Cowan has served as primary staff to numerous commissions, committees, and work groups, and he has consulted, written, and presented extensively on a variety of court related topics. His work has been recognized by the White House, he has twice received the Chief Justice’s Commendation from the Florida Supreme Court, and he has received numerous other awards and recognitions.
He actively volunteers in the local community, including serving on the Leon County Value Adjustment Board and as President-Elect for the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition.
He received a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of South Carolina in 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Florida in 1989. He is a Certified Public Manager, Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Sterling/Oglethorpe Advanced Examiner, and Florida Certified Contract Manager.
