Meet the speaker:
Marissa Batie-Collier is the CEO of Sg Mental Health Counseling, a healthcare company that provides mental health counseling services with supportive therapeutic interventions to promote and normalize therapy in underserved and underrepresented communities.
She brings more than 20 years of broad experience in the healthcare industry to her customers. She’s also a certified life coach, author, and motivational speaker.
As CEO, she provides leadership and strategic direction for the business, creates, implements, and executes the company's vision and mission, and ensures the financial success and public acceptance of the corporate brand.
Prior to launching Sg Mental Health Counseling in 2019, Marissa worked as a social worker. There, she assisted with bridging the gap in access to financial, medical, and mental health resources, fought against food inequity in her community, and was licensed as a master-level social worker in Alabama, Kentucky, and Louisiana.
To round out her impressive career, Marissa is the author of several fiction and nonfiction books, including “Love Is Not Abusive: How to Support a Loved One in a Domestic Violence Relationship.” In the future, Marissa wants to pursue a doctoral degree in social work and become a licensed clinical social worker.
Marissa Batie-Collier was born and raised in Gainesville, FL. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Social Work. She’s also a Licensed Master Social Worker and certified Prepare-Enrich Therapist. Furthermore, she’s certified in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and is a Florida Notary Public. Additionally, she holds a Women & Minority Business Certification and is a National Preceptor for United HealthCare.
When Marissa isn’t operating her business, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering in her community.
